We are HUGE Dr Seuss fans in our house. We love the antics that his lovable characters and creatures get up to.. and in particularly love The Cat in the Hat (what a naughty cat indeed). So when we were invited along to see this (wonderful!) stage production of The Cat in the Hat, I knew we had to go. At 45min long, it is a perfect production for younger kids, filled with mischief and joy.
We were SUPER curious HOW they would translate such a quirky story onto the stage and were pleasantly surprised by the creativity of both the stage setting and book adaptation. Simply wonderful and delightful!
I love how the characters had that “drawn” picture book feeling to them, literally bringing the book to life – as if they had stepped out of the book and onto the stage.
The kids were giggling away and were enraptured.
There we just enough “audience surprises” to keep the kids on their toes and joining in – lots of giggling and delight from my kids for sure. I think our favourite parts where the oh so naught Thing 1 and Thing 2, as well as the ball antics. The fish in the bowl was brilliant (loved the costume too) and we simply would like to go and see it ALL OVER AGAIN. Such a great show to see at any time of year. Definitely worth a visit – grab some tickets whilst they are still available!
