Well. Yes! It is THAT time of year again. As the clock strikes midnight and Halloween ends, we head straight into Christmas. And for us that s a moment to soon. We LOVE CHRISTMAS! Woohoo. No ba humbugs in this house.
And what better way to kick the festivities off, than with a visit to Santa’s Grotto. This year, we went along to Eddie Catz – a play centre in Wimbledon. I didn’t realise that Eddie Catz “did” Grotto’s and this is in fact their second year running.
Being a play centre, I wasn’t sure what to expect (would it be like the School Christmas Grotto – a valiant effort by our PTA – but well, saggy beards and bottoms? Or something else?).
The children excitedly waited their turn and then we went in…….
I think I can safely say, that we were impressed and the kids LOVED the magical experience. I have to say that the Elves in charge were simply wonderful and charming (can you see our little girl’s face of delight as she talks to the elves whilst writing her letter?) and made the children feel at ease, in a magical place and excited all at once.
Santa was rather jolly and the real deal (no saggy bottoms here) and the kids were very pleased with their wintery plush toy (as was I, no plastic toot for us! Phew).
Finally we received a photo momento to take home – which alone made the visit worth it!
The we had a good hour’s worth of play before heading home again.
