Well, with a 5.5yrs old who had a very special Cars party and a an almost 4yrs old, in the house, Cars is a popular movie in our house. So, when the Disney’s Planes movie came out, I knew the kids would love to see it. We took to the opportunity to see it in 3D too. Did we like it? YES WE DID! And 3D made it even more exciting.

Dusty is but a mere “crop duster”, spending his days over the same fields dusting the groups. Day in day out. Year in year out. He dreams of bigger things and joining in with a world wide race. But is a little dust cropper able to achieve this? This is the story of the country boy come good, showing what determination and a little help from your friends can do. There are exciting bits and funny bits and just “aaah” bits.

My overall movie rating for Disney’s Planes:
Would my husband like this film? I think he would be fine with it!
Did our friend like it? Yes they did, two young boys, who also great cars fans. So all happy all round.
Likeability of characters – 8/10 (dusty was likable, you rooted for him all the way, the baddy was a good baddy and all the other characters were funny and quirky)
General story line – 6/10 (a little predictable and though the flying pace fast, the overall movie pace a little bland)
The Ending – 7/10 (there can be no other ending, surely?)
Overall? If you love Cars and you love Cars 2, then you will probably want to come and see Planes and are likely to enjoy it. You may be slightly disappointed (the boys still prefer Cars 2 better, though they liked the movie). I wouldn’t say it is the best Disney movie ever, but good entertainment and the 3D made it extra fun.
