The team from the Peppa Pig Live shows is back! We already saw Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt a year or so ago and were delighted to be invited to go along to this year’s Peppa Pig Big Splash production! Both of the kids (almost 6yrs old boy and 4yrs old girl) loved every second of it. Having been before, I wasn’t “as delighted”, maybe because we already knew what to expect!
- approx. 1hr 30minutes including interval
- Pre schoolers or anyone that adores Peppa
On this occasion, we see Peppa and her friends needing to fun raise to help build a new roof for the school. The friends get together and organise a fabulous fun school fair, with a big muddy puddle competition at the end.
In many ways, I “wish” we hadn’t seen Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt already, as I couldn’t help but compare it throughout. The Treasure Hunt simply was that little bit better – it had more of a consistent story line, whilst The Big Splash felt like it was pieced together from a number of our favourite Peppa Pig cartoons. But that is me. When the show is all about the kids. Who adored all the wonderful sing a longs and audience participation. Lots of clapping, hand waving and getting the kids to shout things out – and that after all is what matters. The kids had a brilliant time.
As soon as the official video is available, I will add it to this review for you to review.
Would my husband have enjoyed it? He did! Well, he enjoyed watching the kids enjoy it! I think he found the show itself, ahem, a little boring.
Did the kids at the theatre enjoy it? OH YES THEY DID! Both kids – almost 6yrs old boy and the 4yrs old girl loved it.
Likeability of characters – 9/ 10 (the puppets are adorable, the voices are great, the cast is lovely)
General story line – 7/10 (I found the plot disjointed)
The Ending – 8/10 (Happy ending, always good)
Disclaimer: the PR invited us along to the show. Many thanks!
