A few months ago, try we had a great giveaway for tickets to go and see The Lion, order The Witch and The Wardrobe at the Rose Theatre in Kingston (London). Since then, information pills we have been eagerly awaiting the day to go and see it ourselves. And finally this day came. The long wait was very much worth it!
The first thing that struck me, is that this was a play for the whole family to enjoy – with a cast of children! It has been a LONG time since I have been at the theatre and seen children on stage – yes, many West End Productions have kids, but less so the “normal shows”. Well, when I say, kids, they were mainly teenagers. And they were brilliant. I have so much respect for so much talent as such a young age and I think my children enjoyed the play all the more for it (and what great young role models too!).
The play itself was fantastic – if you are familiar with the Narnia Books, you can imagine that it is no mean feat to condense it into a play lasting an hour and half. But they succeeded. It was enchanting, it was memorizing, it was exciting and emotional.
A fantastic play for the Christmas season and well worth a visit!
